Building a national reputation for Pittsburgh as a city and region that celebrates ethnic and cultural diversity and embraces all, the inaugural first annual Greater Pittsburgh Diversity Festival was held in August 16-19, 2007.
Great cities are rooted in the imaginations and aspirations of the people who build them. In the case of Pittsburgh, a truly great city in the American tradition, our unique, multicultural heritage is an intrinsic part of our history and provides us with opportunities we have yet to fully realize. To thrive today, as a society and a region, we need to celebrate our diversity and use it as a beacon to attract people and new business to our area.
